Meet Gwynn Hoskins, a proud Kiwi , talented architect and passionate global workplace designer. After years of shaping some of the world’s most dynamic workplaces—like those at Stripe and Amazon—Gwynn returned to New Zealand in 2022, inspired to bring a fresh perspective to workplaces in his homeland.

Upon returning to New Zealand, Gwynn noticed a disconnect: while New Zealand thrived in innovation and creativity, many workplaces felt uninspiring. He envisioned what the country could achieve if its work environments reflected the creativity of its people.

We start by listening to your needs, then thinking and designing how a better workplace can benefit your business and your people. Whenever possible, we repurpose existing elements—whether it’s furniture, styling pieces, or essentials like desks and chairs. This approach not only saves money and reduces waste but also results in designs that blend the old with the new, creating new spaces that are anything but boring.

As workplace requirements consistently change, so should your space. We design custom components that are flexible and reconfigurable, allowing your space to adapt to whatever your business requires. The lucky escape: why we should be grateful for workplace design evolution.

Picture this: it’s 1975, and you’re walking into your new office job. Fluorescent strips buzz overhead, casting a sickly pallor/ annoying relfection over endless rows of identical desks. The carpet is burnt orange shag, the walls are wood-panelled with a cold green hue, and your “workspace” is defined by shoulder-high fabric partitions in varying shades of brown and beige. When Consult Recruitment asked us to update their iconic loft-style office, we jumped at the chance. Set in a characterful building within the lively Britomart Precinct, their office was ripe for transformation.

Revamping Auror’s Auckland office

Auror is at the forefront of preventing retail crime, reducing losses, and enhancing safety for staff and customers. With their team rapidly expanding, they needed to evolve their Auckland office space to keep pace. Our task was straightforward: reimagine their environment to mirror Auror’s commitment to safety, collaboration, and community. We began by listening to their team’s needs, a critical step to ensure the new design truly supports their growth and values.

A decade ago, workplace design meant rows of beige cubicles, harsh fluorescent lighting, and the occasional motivational poster. Today’s employees would laugh at that setup—and rightfully so.
